The Glendronach: A new era for its sherry-cask whisky

The Glendronach, renowned for its bold, sherry-cask-matured single malts, is entering a new chapter with a refreshed visual identity. For whisky enthusiasts, this Highland distillery remains synonymous with depth, complexity, and the meticulous craft of sherry-cask maturation—a hallmark of its single malts since 1826.

What sets The Glendronach apart is its commitment to using Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks, which lend distinctive character to the whisky. The Oloroso casks impart a robust, nutty warmth with hints of spice, while the Pedro Ximénez casks introduce rich notes of dark chocolate and dried fruit. The result is a layered, full-bodied whisky that combines Highland spirit with a touch of Spanish influence.

The Glendronach’s core range—featuring the 12, 15, and 18-year-old expressions—has long been admired for its deep, complex flavours. The 12 showcases bold sherry notes balanced by dried fruit and spices, making it a versatile introduction to the range. The 15, often considered the gem of the lineup, offers richer, more intense layers of dark fruit, caramel, and oak, while the 18 is a deeper, more luxurious exploration of sherry maturation, with rich notes of chocolate, figs, and a hint of leather.

As part of its new direction, The Glendronach has also updated its bottle design, which now reflects a refined, timeless aesthetic while retaining a key element: the distillery’s iconic illustration, a visual reminder of its enduring legacy. Despite the fresh look, the whisky inside remains unchanged, honoring the tradition and craftsmanship that have defined the brand for nearly two centuries.

For those in Singapore, The Glendronach can be savoured at select bars and restaurants – The Lobby Lounge at InterContinental, Enclave Restaurant & Bar, Mandala Club, Nook Nowhere, Wallich Manor, Synthesis 食拿酒稳 and Straits Bar at Tower Club – through exclusive whisky flights and pairing menus, offering a chance to experience the depth and complexity of this exceptional single malt in a curated setting.
