New cocktails and menu at The Lobby Lounge, Intercontinental Singapore

Nestled in the heart of Singapore, InterContinental’s titular Lobby Lounge continues its tradition of bringing a local flair to luxury. This October, Head Mixologist Rhodora Amurao invites patrons to take storied sips through Singapore’s eclectic neighbourhoods with a fresh lineup of cocktails, crafted to capture the spirit and stories of the city’s historic precincts.

The Lounge’s newest menu, in collaboration with award-winning mixologist Jesse Vida, follows a cocktail narrative through textures, aromas, and colours, with cocktails crafted for day (more refreshing) and night (spirit-forward).

A toast to Singapore’s heritage

Start your exploration at Sultan Gate Gardens, where Kampong Glam’s Gelam Trees and spice gardens inspire the Royal Rosales. This radiant afternoon pick-me-up mixes Kyro Gin, Nardini Bitter, strawberry, grapefruit, and a whisper of sea salt, offering a refreshing escape within the Lounge’s airy charm. For those who seek a quieter reflection, Reverie blends Nikka Coffee Grain Whisky, Fair Kumquat Liqueur, and hibiscus bitters—a nod to the tranquillity of Sultan Gate’s green spaces.

The journey continues through the Gothic arches of CHIJMES. Once a convent and now a historical treasure, this locale’s rich culinary heritage is celebrated in the Abbey Gardens Punch, a lush combination of Kaffir Lime, Veritas Rum, calamansi, pineapple, ginger, and honey, topped with a dried ginger candy. For a velvety twist on the neighbourhood’s traditional yam desserts, there’s Gothic Arch—a vibrant, creamy blend of Chalong Bay Spice Rum, ube cream, banana liqueur, and coconut flakes, recalling the vibrant purple hues of ube halaya.

Head into Singapore’s National Library, where the innovative Kopi Colada reinterprets the city’s beloved Nanyang coffee in a fresh, tropical take. Combining Veritas Rum, pineapple juice, lemon, and a generous kopitiam-inspired foam, this clever twist on a pina colada bridges tradition with a touch of whimsy.

For a more spirit-forward sip, The Archives balances earthy Compass Box Glassglow Blend, Merlet Apricot Liqueur, and Oloroso Sherry.

Down the street lies Haji Lane, and with it, the vibrant Narrow Lane cocktail: a zesty mix of Tequila Ocho Plata, Silvermoon Tea, mezcal, yuzu, and cardamom bitters. And as night falls, Nocturne Alley transports one to the Lane’s nocturnal allure with Teeling Whisky, longan, PX sherry, and a touch of dried longan for a final layer of complexity.

Return to the Lounge with the Legacy Eighty, an homage to Peranakan culture blending Colombo Gin, blue pea, tamarind, and a hint of vermouth. Or for a truly indulgent finale, opt for the Heritage Martini—a sophisticated mix of Nikka Coffey Vodka, Jaisalmer Gin, Baba-Nonya spices, and a pinch of umami bitters.
